If you have been cruising the blogosphere the passed two months, you’ll have seen one thing pop up everywhere (even here). You’ll see the appearance of the 125×125 button. If you don’t know what I am talking about, just look at that ShoppingAds ad on the right sidebar and you’ll see what I am talking about. That is a 125×125 button that I use for a particular company. However, that’s not what I am talking about today; what I am talking about today is the 125×125 button private advertisers are starting to purchase.

The reason people are starting to buy them is because they are small and normally inexpensive. They are beneficial because, since a blogger normally sells a couple, you can get them for less money. That means, you are getting more advertising across more blogs rather than just getting advertising on ONE blog. And in my opinion, buying advertising on more than one blog is more beneficial than it is to buy advertising on one blog. So, if you’re in the market to buy some, I really think it is a great way to get some incredible traffic to your site.

Now, if you are looking to SELL them, then there are a few things that you are going to want to do. The first is show people what a button would look like there. I am doing this by putting that advertisement there. People will see WHERE the buttons are going to go. The next thing you want to do is let people know how many there are going to be. The final thing that you are going to want to do is offer your advertisers the chance to get it the next month. Give them first pick and you’ll keep them around a lot longer. The reason this is good is because the less work you need to do trying to get new advertisers, the more work you can do making your blog better, thus being able to raise the price.

I am sure you are ALL asking now, “Jacob, are you going to offer 125×125 buttons?” Yeah, I am. I am going to be selling four of them where you see that ShoppingAds button (if all four are purchased, I will remove that ShoppingAds button). Each one is going to cost $15.00. They will go up when purchased and they will last to the end of that month. So, if you buy it before November 1st, you get it from whatever day until November 30th. I will then give you the opportunity to pay for December before I offer it to anyone else. You can put whatever types of ads you want except for incredibly flashy ones.
