June 26, 2008One phenomenon of college kids making big bucks has been through playing poker. Many college kids play both live poker as well as online poker. Most of the time, this is discouraged. College kids can often become addicted, not so much in the sense that they get fiscally into trouble, but at the very least their grades go down because they are playing too much. Of course, there was the one case of a student robbing a bank to pay off debts resulting from playing poker, so some students do get into financial trouble.
A lot of poker skill is innate talent that takes time to develop through practice and patience. Nowadays though, there is a wide variety of free poker strategy available on the Internet, which is helpful too, especially to college students just starting out in the game.
For most college kids, poker is a hobby that is mainly enjoyed by friends. There are the few standouts, the David Williams’s of the world, but they’re rare cases. Nevertheless, of college-aged self-made millionaires, poker is responsibility for quite a few.
