Theme: College Tips: One
July 23, 2007With college coming closer and closer, I thought that it might be appropriate that I pass on a few tips that I learned from college and that I am still learning. Since I am only a sophomore, it would be arrogant of me to think that I knew everything; however, there are some tips that I want to explain over time and I will put them in the motivation second. I will title each post like this one is titled (which may be bad for SEO purposes, but I think it is appropriate.) Hopefully, I’ll have compacted a good number of tips for you all to appreciate. So, for our first tip.
Be Weary of Thursday Nights
Now, you may be wondering, as an incoming Freshman (those that are already in college know this tip already) why you should be weary of Thursday nights. It’s just like every other night, isn’t it? In respect to your work, whether online or offline, yeah, it is just every other night. However, in respect to your social life, Thursday night is, as I will just bluntly say, “the shit!” It’s the night where the parties happen. Don’t ask me WHY Thursday is the night, but bars around campus offer cheap drinks on those nights and all hell breaks loose.
Now…Why should you worry? Because of two reasons. Your websites will be neglected that night and so will your schoolwork. So, here is my tip to you…Get your work done early that day. Try and get it done a little faster (because we all want a social life) and focus on it more. Once you are done with it, you can go out and just enjoy yourself. Have a couple of beers (because alcohol and college are intertwined) and just relax. However, let me make it clear that it is imperative for your websites and your school work that they get done before Thursday nights start.
I have heard many horror stories of people failing out because they got lazy. Some professors give a lot of exams on Fridays (for added study time) and that is horrible for those heavy partiers. I am all for parties, but it is important that you try and get your work done first. This is equally as important for your websites. I have neglected blog posts a few times this month and that is bad for the growth of this site. Don’t neglect your sites. Sure, you don’t have to work for AS long, but makes sure that no matter what, you get your work done. It’s only a few weeks away before school starts…Get whatever work you can get done now before all hell breaks loose! Have fun!
