Theme: Don’t Believe the Scams

May 31, 2007

I wanted to make this blog post in an effort to protect my readers from getting scammed. There are so many scammers and wannabe “Gurus” on the net that are looking to make money from you that I often wonder how they can do it. How can they be so cynical and so cruel that they are willing to ROB people of their money to make their own money? Now, I want to give you some advice about them and then tell you a few to watch out for. If you can defend yourself against signing up or doing these weird scams, you might save yourself a boat load of money and you might even be able to make a little money. But, that’s another thing for another time.

The thing to remember about scams is that they want you to normally buy something of theirs because what they are offering is an amazing secret. Let me tell you one thing. If you ever buy a “learn all you can about adsense” e-book for $97.00, please be mad at yourself. The reason I say this is for two reasons. The first is because all of that material will be for free somewhere. And the second is because whatever I learn while on the internet, I promise that I will post it here so that you can all learn as well. So, right here and now, make yourself a promise never to buy another “learn how to earn on adsense” book or “secrets of adsense” book or any of that. Make the promise now.

Another thing about these scams that I’ve found is that they offer these “get rich schemes.” Now, they work. They do work. But they work for the one that starts it. The way it works is this. You have to pay $250.00 for this e-book that offers all of these great secrets. And then what happens? The secret in the e-book is that you need to sell that same e-book to five other people for the same price. Well…You’ve now just made $750.00 profit, but you also just scammed five people. And if you continue selling the book, you continue to make money. However, what happens if you bought the book from someone who bought the boom from someone who bought the book from someone down the line five times? Finding a customer will be a royal pain, won’t it? So how is that a get rich scheme?

Finally, anything that says you can make an infinite amount of money is a scam. Basically what they’re saying is that the more people you sign up, the more money that you can make. How is this possible? After a while, there won’t be anymore people. These are called pyramid schemes. Basically, you sign up a few people by getting them to pay and they sign a few up by getting them to pay. By using viral marketing, the owner of this pyramid scheme scores. He or she makes the most money all the type. It’s called a pyramid because the top profits more than the bottom. There can be fewer great profiters and a lot of minor profiters. Keep that in mind.

The only real advice I can offer you is this. Be careful of scams on the internet. Anything that says you need to pay to make a lot of money is generally a scam. Is Adsense making you sign up to use their program? No. So, it’s not a scam. Be careful of the types of sites you trust on the web. There are no ethics on the internet anymore and there are few people that are willing to be honorable and trust worthy. If you can find someone that is, then make friends with them. I’m always willing to make friends. The moral is simple…Don’t believe the scams. I’ve seen too many people lose their money because of it and that money could’ve gone to making an amazing website. Don’t fall for the scams and save your money.
