If you remember my post a while back about internal linking, you’d remember that I said it was a great way to get people to stay on your site. And that is very true. For every link that you have, it keeps the person there. It keeps them from leaving because they go from one story to the next story to the next story to the next story. If you have done your deep linking properly, they might read five or six stories. So for ONE unique visitor, you got five or six page impressions. And to sign up for some publishing companies, you need to have a minimum number of impressions. So impressions are important. However, you can also increase your rank on the search engines with these links.

I have seen people, when they link to an article, just type: to read this article, click here. And then at here, they will click and continue on your blog. That’s great. However, that does nothing to help you really increase your search engine ranking. Now, how do you suppose people get onto the first page of Google for the term “Brittney Spears?” They used the term Brittney Spears when they were typing out their links. Every single link that went to that website or that article had the anchor text “Brittany Spears.” After a while, they begin to rank better and better for that term. It really is phenomenal. And it can make your site all the better.

Now, how can you increase the rank of your site just by using your blog? Well, I am going to tell you. There are two ways…The second I will explain at the end, but the first, let me explain right now. Say you wrote an article about adsense. You could use the terms making money with adsense and then link to the article with those four words. I’ve demonstrated, so click it if you wish to see. By doing this, you allowed yourself not only to get someone to go to that page, but you also used keywords that someone might search for in the future. And if you have enough of them, when they search for those keywords, your site or your article might be on the first page and might even be the first result. That would guarantee a large amount of traffic to your site hands down.

The second way is a little promotion that I am doing. Because I am looking to rank for a particular term on the search engines, I am going to offer a link to anybody that wants one with ANY term they want. All you need to do for me is write a paragraph linking to my blog. However, you can’t just link to it putting DormEarning.com. I want you to link to it with the terms: “making money in college.” Use those terms, link to my blog, and any other articles you may want to, post a comment here, and I will link back to your blog using ANY terms you want. They can even be making money in college if you want. But I will use any terms you want to link back. A link for a link. It’s pretty simple, don’t you think? Try it out…You may find yourself at better search engine placement each and every time.
