Theme: Making Relationships

April 20, 2007

Oh boy! A relationship. I love my girlfriend…Anyways. That’s not the type of relationship that I am talking about. Nah, the big thing that I am talking about here is not that warm feeling you get inside when you are near that one you love or going on a date. Nah…What I am talking about is creating a relationship with someone else in the efforts of business. I’ve befriended numerous people based on the simple and complete fact that I am a business man and so are they and they like to talk with other people to bounce ideas off. Do you have any idea how important having ideas to bounce off of someone is?

Let’s say you want to create a website all about dogs. You sit down and say, “Alright, dogs…I love dogs. Pretty dogs, rough dogs, cute dogs, all dogs dogs dogs.” So, you get the site design and everything and you implement the ads. And then bam, you put the site up and that’s that. Now, let’s assume you had made a friendship with someone that was pretty good at creating websites. You show him/her the site and immediately they say, “Fix that ad placement! Put it more in the middle and your income will double by five percent.” And when referring to Adsense, five percent is VERY good. By showing him/her your site, you got some feedback.

Feedback is very important. It’s very important because you get another perspective on how things are supposed to be and how to better your site. I got feedback on every site that I have made. People have told me what needs fixing, what doesn’t need fixing. It was actually with the help from a friend that I created this site. But, that’s another story for another time. All I am saying is this…Make relationships with people. Try and get contacts because you never know when one day, you’ll need that person for advice. And that advice could mean an increase in profits. Make relationships…And if anyone wants to bounce ideas off with me, just leave a comment and I will gladly send you an e-mail!
