Earning Money

Links are an important aspect of building your website. They are the way that new people can find your site for the first time. If you have your link on one site that is related to yours and someone sees it, they might click on it, thus bringing them to your site. This is beneficial because the more traffic that you have going to your site, naturally, the more potential money you can make on your site. Now, there are two types of links that I intend on mentioning in this post. The first is a link exchange and the second is a one way link or a back link.

Link Exchange: A link exchange is just that. You exchange links with a site. Say you both run arcade sites. You want to try and get people to your arcade site and so does that person as well. So, you agree to do a link exchange. You put a link up onto your site and that person does the same. The important thing is to ensure that it is put into a key position. Try and put it towards the top so that when a visitor goes to their site, they might see your link and thus go to it. The better the position, the better it will be for the both of you.

Back Links: These are one way links. They tend to be purchased or just earned from someone posting, such as in a blog. If I were to write a link to someone, they would get something beneficial while I would not get anything. This is most beneficial to the person being linked to because you don’t lose out on potential traffic nor do you lose out on page rank. Page rank is Google’s way of ‘ranking’ a website. In a future post, I will explain it. Simply put, a back link is more beneficial because there is only someone linking to you. However, they are harder to come by.

Links are very important because they help with traffic and they help you increase in popularity in the search engines. The more links that you have linking to your site, the more people you can get to your site. And like I have said time and time again, the importance of having people going to your site cannot be compared to anything. Content is King, Links are Queen, Networks are Jacks, but in the end, traffic is the Ace. Ace beats all. Good luck everyone getting the links that you need!
