This blog post is going to be relatively short, but it is pretty basic and just talks about one important thing that people forget to do when they are working on their blogs or forums. I have seen a lot of blogs and forums get hacked because of security problems and I am just going to say that it is imperative that you update your blog to the latest version when you are working. If you don’t, you can risk losing all that you have done. And that brings me to another point I will cover in just a moment.

Although updating blogs and forums can be somewhat difficult, once you learn how to do it, it will definitely become easier. It is important to do this because if you don’t, you’ll lose all the hard work that you’ve spent a long time doing. I run two blogs and a forum, all of which need to be updated often. If I did not update their security, I’d run a risk of losing what a lot of people like to come here to read. My point is very simple…Just update them and you won’t lose your precious sites.

This brings up one other point. Back ups. It is imperative that you do back up your site all the time. If you don’t do this, you run the risk of losing things. Here’s my advice. If you are going to update to the latest version, be sure to have a back up prepared just in case. Have a back up of the entire database because if you mess up, you can just try again and know that you’ll have the back up ready. If you just do this and you update your blogs and forums, you’re bound to run a long, successful site.
